GPS is Killing Our Instincts
Here is one distinct example of where technology is killing our instincts. Get in the car with someone in his or her 20’s, and more likely than not they will have ZERO sense of direction. If you tell them to go west for ten blocks, they need an address to put in the damn machine.
When I went on safari, there were special trackers who could see, hear and smell things that we visitors who paid a bunch of money could not. I was in awe of what they could perceive.But I at least know that the Pacific Ocean is to the west!
